London, December 6, 2016 – Official partner sponsor of The Fashion Awards 2016, Swarovski continued its support and celebration of the global fashion community at the Royal Albert Hall.
Guests were welcomed by Prologue, an installation by Fredriksson Stallard featuring over 8,000 gold- and topaz-colored Swarovski crystals which radiated its magic on the staircase of the Royal Albert Hall. The global guest list included Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, David Beckham, Karlie Kloss, Kate Moss, Gigi Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Tom Ford, Marilyn Manson, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Selma Hayek and Jaden Smith amongst others.
Iconic fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier interviewed key guests as Swarovski’s red carpet reporter- with highlights including an exclusive interview with winner of the Model of the Year Award, Gigi Hadid, Swarovski brand ambassador Karlie Kloss and New Fashion Icon recipient Jaden Smith.
Winners on the evening were presented with handcrafted Swarovski crystal trophies designed by celebrated designer Marc Newson, these included British talents Molly Goddard, Simone Rocha and Craig Green as well as international brands Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Vêtement who won in the newly established Urban Luxury category.
Franca Sozzani, Editor in Chief of Vogue Italia was honoured for her in humanity and tireless commitment to philanthropy for the inaugural Swarovski Award for Positive change. The award was one of the three special recognition awards which saw Bruce Weber recognised with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator and Ralph Lauren celebrated with the Outstanding Achievement award.
